Empowering Education, Enabling Discovery, and Navigating a Changing World

What is Artificial Intelligence (AI)?

From writing tools to image generators, recommendation engines to virtual assistants, artificial intelligence shows up in more places than we might realize. At its core, AI is about using data and algorithms to build systems that can respond, create, sort, predict, and solve problems, often in ways that feel surprisingly intuitive. Whether you’re asking a chatbot for help or using software that adapts to how you learn, you’re likely already interacting with AI.

Generative AI is a fast-growing part of this field. These tools can create new content, like text, images, music, or code, based on patterns they’ve learned from massive collections of data. As these tools become more powerful and widely used, they raise important questions about creativity, originality, accuracy, and ethics.
