The Office of the Provost leads and coordinates the University’s academic enterprise, setting priorities and guiding decisions that shape education, scholarship, and public impact. The Provost’s team aligns strategy, resources, and operations to support a strong, cohesive, and forward-looking University.
Grounded in a commitment to student success, we work across schools, colleges, and campuses to expand access, strengthen educational quality, and advance meaningful academic outcomes in teaching and scholarship.
Guided by the University’s public mission, we support academic and administrative units, providing coordination, leadership, and data-informed insights to ensure effective operations and informed decision-making.
Pamir Alpay, Ph.D.
Interim Provost & Executive Vice President
Interim Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Pamir Alpay has served as the University of Connecticut’s chief academic officer since October 6, 2025. He is responsible for all academic units and operations across UConn’s 14 schools and colleges and its seven campuses statewide.
